We advise on legal, compliance, ethical and reputational issues, doing our best to enable bold, creative risks and overcome the obstacles along the way - ideally without anyone going to jail and avoiding paying damages or Ofcom revoking the Channel’s licence!

I work in Programme Acquisitions - a small team with a big remit! We source, secure, and manage the best international series and films on the market. We bring you shows such as Handmaid’s Tale, Big Bang Theory and Married at First Sight Australia, as well as Oscar winners like Parasite and Rocket Man.

I have worked at Channel 4 for seven years, having spent eighteen years beforehand at a media agency. Channel 4 have been the only media owner that I wanted to work for, as Channel 4 were always challenging and weren’t afraid of taking risks. I still love it today as much as I did when I joined. It’s a welcoming environment and you are recognised for the work you do. It feels like a family; the people are great, every day is different and most importantly – it’s fun!

Before this apprenticeship, I was planning on going to university but knew it didn’t feel like it was going to be the best fit for me. Applying for this apprenticeship at Channel 4 was definitely one of the best decisions of my life. Not only has it given me the confidence I needed to fully recognise my own talents, but it has also allowed me to begin developing them further to build towards a future career in something I’m passionate about.

Being at Channel 4 has been a delight! I currently have been watching some fun shows and picking out clips that I think would make great content. With my role I also edit content and create images. In just 3 weeks I have managed to create and edit a video for Facebook. The people are so warm and welcoming, I have found it easier than I thought to fit in and I can’t thank my department enough.
