Kari Patel - Management Accountant

I work in 4Finance (Marketing and Viewer Experience). It has been a wonderful couple of years at Channel 4; everyone is extremely positive, creative, and welcoming. For me being inclusive is not only about diversity but its about giving everyone an equal opportunity to be heard and I believe Channel 4 does this impeccably.

Kam Kular - Senior Internal Audit Manager

I work in Business Assurance. I joined during lockdown so have yet to actually meet anyone in person! Channel 4 is truly an amazing place to work, everyone is super friendly and it’s the first organisation I’ve worked at where inclusion and diversity is celebrated and at the heart of everything we do.

Ollie Madden - Creative Director of Film4

I started in 2017 and specifically wanted to work at Film4 as everything the brand stands for aligns with my  creative ambition for the types of films and filmmakers I want to work with. I can’t think of any other organization that embraces risk and creative innovation in the way Channel 4 does. It makes it a very dynamic place to work and an appealing home for artists.

Abena Opoku - Presentation Scheduling Executive

I have been at Channel 4 for five years. Having worked in other media companies, I love how inclusive and diverse Channel 4 is and how it is truly reflective of our modern and ever-changing society! We are a passionate bunch, continuing to deliver ground-breaking and thought-provoking content alongside the best support network!

Laura Marks - Senior Digital Commissioning Editor and Senior Operations Lead, Digital Commissioning

There is nowhere quite like Channel 4. I am lucky to have a role and team where we can take creative risks and look after projects that generate a lot of noise; that is incredibly motivating. The people here are creative and unique – we definitely work hard (very hard!), but also play hard.

We have such an inclusive culture at Channel 4 and it makes me proud to work for a Broadcaster where I can truly be myself, and able to work with colleagues from all walks of life.

Harjeet Chhokar - Commissioning Editor

I am a Commissioning Editor in the Channel 4 Factual department based in Leeds. The best thing about working for Channel 4 is the creative and collaborative nature of the work we do, whether that be meeting and developing ideas with independent production companies, who come with fantastic and exciting ideas, or working closely with talented colleagues, who help and offer advice when we need it.

Deborah Dunnett - Commissioning Editor, Lifestyle

I am a Commissioning Editor based in Glasgow but I spend my days collaborating with companies from across the United Kingdom, both large and small. That could be developing fresh and exciting new formats or delivering old favourites.

I love how much we prioritise inclusion on and off-screen, it’s part of every creative conversation and it’s backed up by the way we recruit and operate at the Channel. We’re happy to be Altogether Different!

Alex Bootherstone - Genre Assistant for Entertainment and Live Events

I've been working for Channel 4 since January 2021. It has always been an ambition to work at Channel 4, as I've admired it as a network which is not afraid to shy away from big questions, and has enabled voices which aren’t heard on other channels to shine through.

Luke Cavalli - Compliance Editor

I started my Channel 4 journey back in 2018 as an apprentice in the Factual team, left for a year and then returned in 2020. Can’t keep me away! Channel 4 is an amazing place to work, made even better by the people.

Jay Tait - Compliance Editor

I work for the Channel 4 Legal & Compliance team… but I’m also bit of grungy punk who’s into loud shouty music, so there’s that. I love it at Channel 4! We are passionate about what we do, we all care about each other and we want you to be your genuine self here too! We accept and embrace everyone’s differences, understanding that the world would be such a boring place if everyone was similar.
