Distribution and Platform Partnerships

Channel 4 is an innovative broadcaster. We’re cool but we’re not too cool for our own good. Our aim is to broadcast content that is interesting, thought-provoking and entertaining. It’s the job of Distribution and Platforms Partnership to make sure that content gets in front of as many people as possible.

Our Distribution & Partnerships team help to connect viewers with Channel 4’s quality public service content and brand across a variety of linear and digital platforms, ensuring PSB prominence status is maintained together with delivering commercial revenues.

We work with global technology companies (e.g. Google, Amazon, Apple) as well as pay TV platforms (e.g. Sky, Virgin, BT), TV manufacturers (e.g. LG, Samsung, Sony), social platforms (e.g. YouTube, Meta, TikTok, Snap), and many more to ensure UK audiences can access Channel 4 effectively, we remain relevant, and our partners enjoy the full value of our premium products and services. What we do is central to our strategy – we’re a public service broadcaster, so it’s crucial that we have the right commercial deals in place to derive maximum benefit from other platforms.

Getting content in front of audiences is a complex but fascinating business. Working in Distribution and Partnerships, you’ll get to see and understand the end-to-end process. You’ll gain exposure to the constantly evolving media landscape. And you’ll be interacting with many other departments within the organisation. All as part of a team that works towards a common goal. That has clear focus and direction. That takes pride in being a centre of excellence.

Demi Mantell - Commercial Partnerships Manager

I started at Channel 4 in April 2021. I’ve always been interested in the broadcast space so transitioning over to Channel 4 was something I’d hoped to do for a long time. Channel 4 was always the aim as the brand pushes the boundaries that, in my opinion, other broadcasters don’t – it’s paving the way for many important movements!

If there’s one thing that has stood out for me whilst working here, it’s that the people are so welcoming and friendly. I started working from home, but the amount of effort people went to just to say hello or welcome to the team was really surprising to be honest! It was really lovely and made a trickier starting situation a lot easier. It also meant I got to know people quite quickly!
