People

People. Looking after the ones who work here, making sure they are properly rewarded and their potential is realised. Seeking out those who don’t but should; people with the talent to make an impact; people with the expertise to add a new dimension to what we know, what we do or how we do it.

The mission of the People Team is to inspire and enable our colleagues to be the best for both themselves and our audiences; making C4 an exciting and inclusive place to work, achieving C4’s purpose.

This is facilitated by the People Team providing advice and support across everything related to people.

This includes recruiting the best people into the right roles, and upskilling our employees to enable them to develop their skills, unleash their potential and make an impact.

We can only ever be as good as our people and our People Team makes sure we have the very best. The function supports our three core business areas: Creative, Commercial and Operations. Each of these is led by an expert Senior People Partner, supported by a People Partner and a team of People Operations Assistants.

Specialists in Reward, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and People Operations & Experience work across all three business areas. They support the People Partners to ensure that the right people are recruited and that our people are supported, developed and engaged so that the channel can continue to deliver on its remit.

Eleanor Chipperfield - Internal Communications Creative and Channel Lead

I work within the People team at Channel 4, producing a lot of internal graphic design and looking after our intranet, lovingly called MOSS, named after Richard Ayoade's character in IT Crowd. What I most enjoy about working at Channel 4 is feeling of collective pride in our output, not just on-air but also internally across our employee networks. Through these groups employees can affect change in the organisation, which can even ripple and affect other organisations too.

Matilda Ho - Reward Analyst

I started my time here at Channel 4 as an Apprentice back in 2018. I then managed to land my current position as a Reward Analyst in our People team. Channel 4 is the friendliest organisation I have ever worked for and it’s got such a vibrant vibe both in the office and remotely! Amongst all the other big TV channels, Channel 4 reigns supreme when it comes to repping unheard voices and championing inclusion & diversity. That was a game changer for me when I was looking for a job. Growing up, Channel 4 basically taught me what the Paralympics was from our 2012 coverage. To this day Channel 4 continues to inspire and create thought provoking pieces of content that I can be proud to be a part of.
