C4 is owned by the public and fully funded by advertising, so maximising revenue which can be invested back on screen is paramount. Each year the 4Sales team generates over £1billion of advertising revenue, across spot, sponsorship and partnerships, that is then used to produce the high-quality, innovative and entertaining programming that our viewers love so much.

The commercial strategy here focuses on three key areas - innovation, distinctiveness and diversity. This helps to build successful and enduring relationships with advertisers. 4Sales been voted Campaign Sales Team of the Year for three years in a row, and helped deliver our highest ever commercial revenues in 2016.

It comprises a number of teams who all perform a crucial role in maximising revenue. These include Airtime Sales, Digital Sales, Partnerships, Sales Operations, Commercial Marketing, Trading, Commercial Development and PA support. The majority of these roles are available in both our London and Manchester offices.

We are a unique organisation, delivering an incredibly important social agenda through the production of fantastic programming, so being part of the sales team that helps us deliver our goals and ambitions is hugely rewarding. Digital Innovation and Partnerships

Our Digital Innovation and Partnerships team consists of; Digital, Brand Partnerships, Commercial Partnerships, Branded Entertainment & Creative (PL4Y) teams that work within the wider 4Sales department.

Our Digital Innovation and Partnerships department is a key driver and is responsible for one of Channel 4’s Future4 Strategy pillars of diversifying our revenue streams to underpin our sustainability (

We are a high performing team where we have been continuing to outperform our respective markets in each of our teams specialist areas. The key stakeholders in each team help set the narrative for C4 Sales, in terms of innovation, creativity, data & programmatic buying.

Part of our challenge for 2021 and beyond is to continue the trajectory of Digital revenue growth in previous years by implementing a new approach to data, programmatic trading as well as defining any new product offering. In addition, we will be focussed on driving new revenue streams on Social platforms (4Studio) and Branded Entertainment with support from teams based in London as well as our Leeds & Manchester offices.

Channel 4 have been the only media owner that I wanted to work for, as Channel 4 were always challenging and weren’t afraid of taking risks. I still love it today as much as I did when I joined.
